Works well but Unreliable October 21, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this to compliment my Samsung Plasma TV. I was happy with it for the first couple of months but recently it has had problems. I first noticed the DVD drive has gotten really loud so although it still works fine, there is this loud noise as the dvd plays. Also I just had to send it to Samsung for maintenance because it stopped powering on. It was totally dead and would not turn on. So after only 3 months of low usage it had to be sent back for repair. I have not gotten it back yet though.
Great Sounding System for the Price October 15, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This system sounds great with my Samsung 52" 750 Series TV. I wanted a system that would connect through Samsung's Anynet easily with my TV, so I would not have to use multiple remotes. And, since I just spent a bunch of money on a TV, I needed a system that was reasonably priced. For whatever reason I thought from the product description and the reviews that this system would be wireless, but this is not a wireless system. You can make the rear speakers wireless if you purchase the Samsung SWA 4000 separately, and I did purchase that separately. I also recommend that you also purchase an HDMI video cable and a fiber optic audio cable. Even though you have to purchase these accessories separately, which is an additional $200 to $250 depending upon the cost and quality of the cables you decide to purchase, the cost of this system is still very reasonable, and the sound is really good.
Don't hesitate to buy this system October 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a very good value for the money.
Overall the reviews I read were positive and since I'm more than happy with every Samsung product I've ever owned, I thought I'd give it a try. Im glad I did. It was easy to hook up. look's great, and sounds like a much more expensive system. I've had it for about a month and everyone who's heard it wants to know more. What more can I say...It just kicks butt!! [...].
Good not great September 30, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I wanted to improve the sound for my Samsung TV. I bought this Surround system because I thought it would do that. I have the HDMI connection and an optical connection, so the sound does play through the system when the TV and Surround are on. Yes, the Surround system will turn off as claimed when I turn off the TV, but when I turn on the TV I still need to turn on the Surround System, which means two remotes.
My major complaint, however, is that I cannot find a way to change the treble and base balance when the sound source is the TV. The adjustments on the TV seem to do nothing. I have gone from a tinny sound to a muffled base tone. Ugh!
Great System...Great Buy September 25, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Love the system so far. Had it for about 2 weeks and as of yet..no problems. Sound is AMAZING!! Play games such as Madden or Call of Duty...MAN...IS IT AMAZING, sounds like im actually on the field or actually in war!! Movies also sound great on the system. I have mines set on surround sound which has all the speakers working at the same time...and I cant really tell a difference when the 2 rear speakers arent on, because the front speakers has alot of sound and the sub-woffer is GREAT adds alot of bass!! If you are looking for a home theater system and you are on a budget, i would highly recommend getting this as your starter choice, even long term depending if you actually want a blu ray player (i have a ps3 so there is no need for me to get a higher dvd system) Design, by the looks of it is pretty nice. Its a lil...um...basic, but i dont really care too much about design as long as i get great sound...thats all i really cared for. Can't wait to watch The Dark Knight and The Incredible Hulk on this system!! I own a Vizio 32" HDTV and i didnt have any trouble connecting to the system. I did use a digital audio optic cable. I felt that it was no reason for getting the HDMI cables for it because i wasnt going to use the DVD player too often and for audio..i felt that the digital audio optic cable was better because i can use that to listen to everything i had my tv hooked up to, which was the PS3 and 360. But really good buy, im glad i purchased it and got it VERY fast from Amazon (Amazon Prime)!!
