Venom is Back December 23, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The reviewer below my comments is an idiot if he thinks this is a sub par effort from Venom. This is the most inspired offering from the band in a long time. The songs simply shred and are a bit more thrash oriented then other albums of the past. If you are a venom fan, or are a fan of old school thrash in generally, pick up this album.
Better than "Metal Black", but not by enough December 5, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I gave this album 3 stars more out nostalgia for what Venom once was then for what's left of the legacy. The last album, "Metal Black" was a pretty crappy, uninspired mess. "Hell" is a better offering, with better production and more memorable tunes, and damned if Cronos isn't as malevolently evil sounding as ever; BUT it still sounds like second-rate outtakes of better Venom albums. A few of the tunes(such as "Power & the Glory")just plain suck. If you're a true Venom fan, and have everything else they've ever done, get it...there's a few moments that will have you smiling & headbanging. If you're new to Venom, pick up their first 4 discs, and leave this one be for now...
