Description The Crusaders were one of the pioneers of Jazz-Funk music in the seventies and have made a number of visits to Montreux over the years. This DVD focuses on their performance from 2003 when the band was touring in support of their album "Rural Renewal". Founder members Joe Sample and Wilton Felder were joined in the line-up by long-standing friend Ray Parker Jr. on guitar and by the inimitable Randy Crawford on vocals. They delivered a set that spanned their career from early days up to their latest album capped with a stunning nine minute plus performance of their classic "Street Life" and finished off with a fun rendition of Ray Parker Jr's "Ghostbusters". TRACK LISTING 1) Spiral 2) Viva De Funk 3) Creepin' 4) Way Back Home 5) Carnival Of The Night 6) Put It Where You Want It 7) Thrill Is Gone 8) Soul Shadows (with Randy Crawford) 9) Street Life (with Randy Crawford) 10) Imagine (with Randy Crawford) 11) Rural Renewal 12) Ghostbusters

AWESOME December 16, 2008 I RECENTLY PURCHASED TWO OF THIS DVD FOR CHRISTMAS. LAST SATURDAY, I GOT THE URGE AND PLAYED IT. I WAS HOPING TO HOLD OUT UNTIL CHRISTMAS. ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS SET IS OFF THE HOOK BIG TIME. I THOUGHT I WAS BACK AT MORGAN STATE UNIV. CIRCA 1974. THE SOUND AND VISUAL QUALITY IS SUPREME. THE NEW CRUSADERS ARE SMOKING. WILTON FELDER ALONE MADE MY SAT. EVENING. READY FREDDY WASHINGTON IS ALWAYS STEADY AND FUNKY. JOE SAMPLE.(ENOUGH SAID) EVERYTHING WAS TIGHT AND FUNKY AND WHEN MISS CRAWFORD HIT THE STAGE,ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE. THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE CONCERT IN MONTREAUX WAS THE UNDERRATED AND MASTERFUL RAY PARKER JR. THAT'S RIGHT MR. GHOSTBUSTER AND RAYDIO LEADER WAS FANTASTIC. A MUST HAVE FOR ALL MUSIC LOVERS. I WAS TELLING A FRIEND THAT CASINO LIGHTS WAS MY ALL TIME FAVORITE DVD; IT NOW HAS SOME SERIOUS COMPETITION.
