Give us new music - even if it's bad! December 24, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
There's so very little wrong with the original versions of these songs. The re-recordings are nice and clean, but is that good? I'll take the dirty, rough recording of "Hotter Than Hell" any day. Some songs are plodding, even workmanlike. They don't have the energy of the originals. And with all the compilations that have flooded the market, wouldn't re-recordings of lesser-known songs been much more interesting? ("All American Man"..."Danger"...Sweet Pain"...why not?)
At least it's a step toward getting the Paul/Gene/Eric/Tommy lineup into the studio. But unless it's new music, what's the point of Kiss even continuing? Paul's still a great songwriter, Tommy certainly has contributions to make...too bad Gene seems as distant from the real essence of Kiss as he was in the mid '80s. Bottom line demand from a Loooooongtime Fan: Give us new music, or shut it down before the legacy suffers even further. Please.
The hottest Band, forever December 4, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I want a new album, here you can hear the sound of Kiss in 2008: THE BEST!!!
Its good for what it is December 3, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I don't know about you, but I am interested in hearing something new, rather than repackaged greatest hits. Look, it's the version of Kiss that is around now, so deal with it. It's good for a bunch of guys in their 50's (excluding Tommy). Can't wait for the new album next year!
Terrific KISS music December 2, 2008 I love this CD. It's full of classic KISS songs that have been re-recorded by the current members. The arrangements are different from the original versions and they still sounds great. Since they may not be a cchance that the Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer version of KISS will ever record a stidio album of newe songs this CD is a chance for fans of this version of KISS to hear Eric and Tommy on a KISS cd.
BAD remakes of great songs! November 27, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
KISS has ruined so many of these classic songs by re-recording them. The ONLY reason they did it was for $$$ and NOT for the fans. FACT IS: KISS has not released any NEW material since 1998 - over 10 years!! The re-recordings sound AWEFUL! Paul cannot hit the high notes like he did in the 70's. There is nothing more sad and pathetic than four fat old men - pushing 60+ years old, wearing spandex, high heels and make-up - pretending to still be in their 20's... Guys - it's time to grow old gracefully... your turning into a COMEDY act, instead of a musical act.
