Editorial Reviews:

Album Description
East German industrial titans follow up 2004's Reise Reise with this fifth studio album, whose title translates as "Rose Red". It consists of leftover material from the Reise Reise sessions which the band felt strong enough to merit a release in its own right. On this album they continue to broaden their palette with a track in Spanish and a duet with Texas's Sharleen Spiteri on "Stirb Nicht Vor Mir" ("Don't Die Before Me"). Includes the single "Benzin" ("Petrol").

3 out of 5 stars oh well   October 16, 2008
I am a fan of Rammstein because they make good and I can't really think of a bad song that they've made but I was disapointed with this cd. Most of the songs are at a slower pace which is okay because I do like their slower ballads like Seemann, Nebel, or Ohne dich but I also really like there heavy fast side too and you don't get to see too much of that here.

There are a few fast songs like Benzin, Mann gegen Mann and Zerstoeren which are okay but they are easily forgetable and repetitive and don't stand out too much. Some of their earlier songs were a little repetitive but they were still good and they pumped you up these songs don't seem to work the same way. The only good fast song is Te quiero puta!, which is sung in Spanish and it has some Mexican music thrown in which makes it stand out and the words are also funny.

Most of the slower songs also suffer from not standing out and being easily forgotten and kind of boring like the Hilf mir, Feuer und Wasser, Ein Lied and Spring. They are all okay songs and each of them have parts I like and they have good lyrics too but they don't stand out that much. The ones that I really like and think stand out are Wer bist du? Stirbt nicht vor mir and Rosenrot.

This is an okay cd with some good songs and mosty okay songs and I would recommend it to Rammstein fans unless you only like there heavier side in which case you probaly won't like this one. Hopefully their next cd will filled with more touching and memorable songs like their earlier cd's.

5 out of 5 stars still going strong and thats a good thing   August 11, 2008
I'm not going to get into specific detail on every song in this album but I would like to mention a couple songs that really had an effect on me. First and foremost Feuer & Wasser is an awesome song and its my favorite song on Rosenrot. Actually it might be one of their best songs for me on any of their albums. Sure it starts out slow and calm but as it nears the end its amazing how till's voice really sounds with confidence and passion I really cant recall any other one of their other songs where till is singing so truly from his heart. Just a great song. Mann gegen Mann on the other hand was a great song as well I loved the guitar riffs simple but effective but the lyrics were a bit strange. The other songs on the album were good but those two stood out to me. I just hope rammstein continues to evolve.

5 out of 5 stars Wow.   April 30, 2008
I got this awhile back and I would have to say that this is one of the best albums I have even bought. I am a huge Rammstein fan and love to listen to them. Worth it, and can't wait for them to come out with more. The lead singer just did a song with another band.
The Disc: Worlds Collide
By the way... The song title is "Helden."

3 out of 5 stars rosen-wreck   December 18, 2007
rosenrot is easily rammstein's weakest studio album; but, as may be expected, the sound quality/production is top-notch, and the opening track, benzene, is one of their best songs ever. but the rest of the album disappoints, being more mellow, slower, and just all around more laid back...the songs definitely lack the punch that rammstein fans have become accustomed to; however, some will surely enjoy this evolution. but for me, as usually seems to be the case, when a band "progresses" and "finds a new sound", it is rarely an improvement, and in fact that departure from the norm is exactly what is wrong with this album: the very reason that i buy rammstein's recordings is because of the material that they had written -- hard edged, heavy riffs countered/balanced with melodic interludes. but this "rot" doesn't meet the bill -- it meanders and even at times stupifies, and indicates a group that should take a year or two off, rediscover their roots, and redirect their songwriting.
