Impressive November 23, 2008
I moved up from a Sony 40 inch lcd to this one primarily to enhance my movie experience. I don't watch TV, so I can't comment on whether it handles HD broadcast better than other brands, but I can tell you, this has increased my movie watching pleasure by 100 fold.... I didn't go out on a limb with tweaking the picture since I have a close to ideal environment for an LCD with no direct light hiting the screen - I just put it on movie mode and it is close to perfect.
Delivery was anothe story; this is NOT "white glove" delivery. Pilot was the shipping company and they used a local contractor for delivery here in North Florida. Apparently, they don't take Amazon's promise of what they will do for you when they deliver the set very seriously. The guy was nice enough (I guess because I agreed to help him carry the set in off the truck), but he obviously wanted to get out of there and didn't want to carry the box with him (I ended up discarding it myself). After I helped him take the top part of the box off, he only went so far as to plug it in the wall and make sure it powered up. He wouldn't have known if there was an issue with dead pixels or not. If I had planned to put it on a stand, he would probably have felt put out to help me put it there. Pilot didn't bother to tell some of it's subcontractors that Amazon had claimed they would perform these services and they were expected to perform them...
Oh well, the TV works fine, and I have a good back, so I'm not terribly put out with the free delivery.
Awesome TV and fantastic delivery service November 23, 2008
We've had our TV now for over 3 months and it has worked flawlessly. Great picture, lots of input options.
I was looking at this particular TV at Bestbuy and saved over $400 by getting it through Amazon. It was delivered with the "White Glove" service which means that a local electronics company delivers it, unpacks it, sets it up, hooks up the wiring and tests it to make sure everything works properly. We were truly amazed at the service.
When we have guests over, they are truly amazed at the picture. Of course, to fully showcase its picture quality, you have to tune into an HD station or play a dvd. The picture is truly amazing.
The built-in speaker is ok, but I ended up getting a Sony soundbar with sub. Hooking that up to the TV is very easy.
This is our 3rd Samsung flat panel (we also have a 42" in the bedroom and a 40" in my office) and we're very satisfied with them all.
The best LCD on the market November 23, 2008
I can't say enough about this LCD screen. Gorgeous picture and the touch of color around the edges make it look so classy. The sound from the TV is definitely loud enough but I wouldn't plan for it to fill a large room. Analog broadcasts are inadeuate after watching HDTV but that is with every TV that's not CRT. Fortunately everything is going digital. If it isn't HDTV, I get irritated though. It really spoils you, especially while watching footbal.
Outstanding TV. Great picture. Good controls and inputs. Adequate sound. Great price on Amazon with shipping.

I have to say like other reviews here I was a bit skeptical about spending this much online. However my doubts were laid to rest once the TV got here and the company hooked it up. The picture is absolutely stunning, I watched iron man in blu ray and just about shat myself. The auto motion 120hz takes a little getting used to, and I even managed to get slighty nauseous from the blur. After a few hours the initially disorientation faded but I am still blown away by the picture. Watching movies is just ridiculous I feel like I could just tap them on the shoulder and ask them a question its so life-like. Worth every penny!!!
As a side note my TV was shipped via a company called Pilot. I ordered the TV on a friday and the following monday they called to let me know that the package had arrived as reflected by the tracking information provided by amazon.com's website. They said that I would recieve a call in a "day or two" about setting up a delivery time. 3 days later I had to track down the company which the amazon representative said was a new shipping company and finally got their corporate headquarters on the phone. Lee and Jill at HQ were extremely helpful going out of the way to assist me. However I got transferred to Cecilia at the San Francisco office and what a rude @$&*#. After having to argue that i never received a call back and when it needed to be shipped she finally relented and agreed to the next day morning 8-12. Taking time off work to meet the delivery was not a problem, except cecilia screwed the pooch again and put it down for afternoon. I filed a formal complaint with HQ but if you ever get Cecilia just hang up or ask for Sharon. Anyways /rant off great tv however :p
