Will probably work for most applications October 17, 2008 I live in an urban environment probably about 20 miles from most of the local TV towers. When you are looking to get over the air digital TV with my proximity to the local TV towers (probably up to 50 miles), this is a cheap way to go without having cable or satellite. I just lay it behind my couch with no set up and it works for the most part. Sometimes I have to stand it up, twirl it around, lean it this way or that way or whatever to get a certain channel to come in. So make sure you give this thing space to move it around. I wouldn't recommend setting this up outside, because you wouldn't be able to move it around as you needed. For over the air digital TV, it's better than smaller rabbit ears type antennas, but is not as good as a larger roof antenna. Remember, with over the air digital TV you just need to get the signal strong enough to get it "over the cliff" to get the "perfect picture" signal in, otherwise you get no signal at all. I get 17 local channels just fine with limited dropout. If a signal drops out, I can move it around a little to get the signal in. Pay $20 for a digital converter with your government coupon and $60 for this antenna, and you've got over the air digital TV that bypasses cable and satellite in most locations.
For the purpose and type of usage I described, I would recommend it.
Great Working Antenna... June 9, 2008 I first bought one of these Terk TV55 antennas several years ago from Circuit City. I didn't have a lot of faith that it would work very good, but the salesperson said if I didn't like it that I could return it within 30 days. So I brought it home and hooked it up to my TV right in the house without mounting it, just to see what kind of signal I would get. I figured if it didn't show some promise, I would box it right back up. Well, I couldn't believe how good it worked! I proceeded to mount it up on my roof, and I have great signal strength. I recently purchaced a second one for my sister who just got rid of her satelite dish and has installed a converter box to get the new digital signals. The antenna worked great for her and she is able to get all of the signals in the area. I would recommend this antenna.
Terk TV 55 HDTV Antenna May 26, 2008 The Terk TV55 HDTV Antenna is great product. This is my second Antenna. if you want to receive all HDTV channels clear and sharp, then this is the antenna you need to have. They come in different length, you can use it indoor or outdoor. You can hid it under a sofa, bed or hung it anywhere. One antenna is in the Attic the other one is behind the sofa. I highly recommend this antenna.
Not worth it - Too big and no improvement in reception May 15, 2008 Don't bother with this unless you plan to mount outside your home. Inside the home, this thing isn't very good and its WAY too big. Explore other options, stay away from this antenna.

DO NOT BUY THIS ANTENNA, I TRY ALL THREE MY HDTV AND FIND OUT I GET BETTER PICTURES WITHOUT THIS ANTENNA. BIG HEAVY JOK
