The vertical compression mode function creates black bars at the top and bottom of the screen and displays all 1080 lines inside the illuminated 16:9 portion of the screen.
The digital comb filter converts chrominance and luminance signals into a digital medium prior to separation and 2H delay. This process provides enhanced color purity and reduced dot crawl. It's also able to eliminate detail noise in intricate scenes as well as reduce color bleed from broadcast sources. Component video (also called Y/Pb/Pr) features a three-jack video input, which provides separate connections for luminance (Y), blue color difference (PB) and red color difference (PR). This results in increased bandwidth for color information, resulting in a more accurate picture with clearer color reproduction and less bleeding than you would get with S-Video or composite (RCA yellow video plug) connections. You will need a separate RCA left/right audio cable for sound.
