Product Description More color, for a more colorful image. Mitsubishi is taking Color to a new level with x.v.Color support and its exclusive 6-Color Light Engine. x.v.Color is the new standard for HDTV and it enables 80% more color than standard HDTV! Mitsubishi's 6-Color Light Engine processes and produces images with six different colors instead of the traditional three to display a wider range of colors, brighter colors and whiter whites. Additional color features such as Color 4D Noise Reduction and PerfectColor allow for additional advanced color processing and adjustment. The result is breathtaking realism with vivid, yet natural Color Without Compromise.
Amazon.com Product Description The WD-57733 is a large 57-inch DLP (Digital Light Processing) rear-projection HDTV from Mitsubishi that incorporates the latest technologies for an accurate picture that is perfect for a large home theater system. Giant Performance, Small Footprint Because the latest Texas Instruments 1080P DLP chip is inside, this television yields the full 1920 x 1080 high-definition resolution with progressive scan, the highest quality HDTV standard today. With a television this size, offering more than two million pixels is important to prevent visible pixelation.
The WD-57733 supports the x.v.Color standard for 80 percent more color than standard HDTV. View larger. View back panel. |
Despite the large screen size, the WD-57733 weighs just 62.4 pounds and is only 14 inches deep. View larger. | The television can display any video signal that is connected to it. When a 1080p signal is the input, it passes through with no down conversion: The 1080p signal is maintained from beginning to end, giving the best picture quality. When a lower resolution is detected, whether it is 720p HD or a DVD, the signal is automatically scaled to display at 1080p, with minimal side effects and a very detailed picture. The screen is big and the technologies are many, but the unit itself weighs only 62.4 pounds and is only 14 inches deep, which means it will fit into many decors. More Color The WD-57733 incorporates a slew of new technologies that combine to give this television the most realistic color reproduction available on the market today. The new x.v.Color standard is supported, which dramatically increases the color space available, with 80 percent more color than standard HDTV. The WD-57733 also supports Deep Color, a new standard that incorporates 10-bit color depth, versus the previous 8-bit color depth. With Deep Color, shaded images show less banding and greater contrast. Coupled with this technology is Mitsubishi's exclusive 6-Color Light Engine, which uses six primary colors instead of the traditional three to create more colors. Mitsubishi's Color 4D Noise Reduction, PerfectColor, and PerfectTint yield a wider color palette and the ability to fine tune the set to your exact preferences. The end result is a brighter, smoother, and more realistic picture than ever before. Connections Galore You don't need to worry about running out of connections with the WD-57733. It has three HDMI 1.3 inputs with Simplay HD certification, so you can connect your Blu-Ray player, HD DVD player, and still have an input left over. It also has three component video inputs (two rear, one front), a front USB connection so you can display up to five-megapixel photographs, and two A/V inputs with S-Video. It has a Dolby Digital/PCM output and an analog stereo output. The WD-57733 is backed by a limited 1-year warranty. What's in the Box WD-57733 57-inch DLP HDTV, remote control, two AA batteries, owner's guide, quick reference guide, quick connect guide, and product registration card.

Great Product May 14, 2008 I bought this TV about a month ago and love it. I have been watching the NBA Playoffs on it and it looks great even in 1080i (comcast doesn't project in higher HD). I have my Xbox hooked up with an HDMI cable and it gives me full 1080P quality. It looks fantastic even in an extremely bright room. I reccommend this product especially for the price. Buying a 57in 1080P HDTV for just over $1K is a steal.
MITSUBISHI, THREE STRIKES, YOU'RE OUT !!! April 17, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
WE PURCHASED A WD-57732 MITSUBISHI TV IN APRIL, 2007. WE WERE THRILLED WITH THE DEEPER IMAGES THAT THE SET OFFERED AND THE COLOR WAS AMAZING. NOTICE I SAID "WAS" AMAZING. WITHIN TWO MONTHS BOTH OUR TV AND CABLE BOX WENT OUT. THE GREEN LIGHT WAS CONTINUOUSLY FLASHING, AND THE TV WOULD NOT TURN ON, I MEAN, NO PICTURE OR SOUND OF ANY KIND. CALLED MITSUBISHI, BUT THEIR "HELPFUL" IDEAS DIDN'T FIX MY TV. WAS INSTRUCTED TO CALL WARRANTY PLACE TO HAVE REPAIR DONE ON TWO MONTH OLD TV. SO FROM JUNE 25, 2007 UNTIL JULY 16, 2007 WE DIDN'T HAVE OUR "BRAND NEW" BIG SCREEN TO WATCH. THEN, OCTOBER, 2007 TV SHOWED MESSAGE "AIR FLOW BLOCKED." WHICH, BY THE WAY, NOTHING WAS BLOCKING THE VENTS OR THE TV. CALLED MITSUBISHI AGAIN, AND THEY INSTRUCTED TV REPAIR PLACE TO PERFORM TEMPERATURE SENSOR CONNECTOR BYPASS, WHICH PROVES THEY KNEW ABOUT PROBLEM AHEAD OF TIME. NOW, HERE WE ARE AGAIN, BOTH TV AND CABLE BOX WENT OUT TOGETHER AGAIN. THIS TIME, CABLE COMPANY SAID TV'S INPUTS OUR PUTTING OUT TO HIGH A VOLTAGE EVEN, WHEN TV IS TURNED OFF, WHICH IS CAUSING BOTH CABLE BOX AND TV TO MALFUNCTION. WORRIED ABOUT POSSIBLE FIRE HAZARD, WE ARE TAKING THIS SET BACK TO STORE AND LOOKING FOR A SONY, OR ANYTHING OTHER THAN A MITSUBISHI. WE THINK 3 STRIKES, YOU'RE OUT!!! JUST LIKE IN BASEBALL. ALTHOUGH, WE DID PURCHASE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY, STILL DON'T WANT TO BE WITHOUT A TV EVERY 3-6 MONTHS. HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE ELSE.
GREAT TV, GREAT PRICE April 16, 2008 I PURCHASED THIS TV FROM AMAZON AND WITHIN ONE WEEKS TIME IT WAS REDUCED BY CLOSE TO $200.00. EACH TIME AMAZON GAVE ME CREDIT FOR THE REDUCTIONS. THIS TV IS A GEM. PERFECT PICTURE AND COLOR. VERY EASY TO SET UP AND PROGRAM. MOST CHANNELS SEEM LIKE THEY ARE IN HD EVEN BEFORE I GOT A HIGH DEFINITION CABLE BOX. IF THIS TV HOLDS UP IT HAS ALL THE MORE EXPENSIVE SETS BEAT BY A MILE. END COST FOR ME WAS JUST OVER $1100.00 DELIVERED AND SET UP WITHIN DAYS AFTER I ORDERED. HATS OFF TO AMAZON AND CEVA THE DELIVERY PEOPLE. THANKS
Mitsubishi Scraping the Bottom! February 28, 2008 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
Mitsubishi once positioned itself on the upper scale of quality video and television products. No more. It's questionable if their DLP sets can genuinely produce a 1080p picture as advertised and their customer service and customer relations is pure garbage. Don't touch this or any other Mitsubishi Television product with a 10-pole. You'll be taken and you'll be sorry. Sony, Samsung and Sharp offer superior products and customer service. Mitsubishi has fallen to the bottom of the heap.
A lot of TV for the money February 14, 2008 I've been waiting to decide which way to go, LCD or Plasma for over a year now. When I saw this DLP I was sceptical about the technology, picture, and quality. Could a DLP compare to LCD or plasma? I was blown away by the picture not to mention the price was half what LCD/Plasmas cost. My 57" Mitsubishi is wonderful. The only thing negative and it is a minor issue is the sound is somewhat "tinny". This thing should have an external speaker system. (I suppose that is also true of any large LCD/Plasma/DLP tv.) I wouldn't trade my Mitsubishi for anything else on the market...except for maybe the 63 or 73" model of the same.
