The TV is completely cable-ready, with a 181-channel direct-selection tuner and timesaving automatic channel setup.The VCR's clock time conveniently sets itself when the unit is used within range of a PBS broadcast station. Other VCR features include automatic rewind at the end of a tape, sleep and wake-up timers. The VCR features automatic head cleaning and a 1-year, 8-event recording timer. I bought this unit because of the VCR capability. I was unable to get one like this (size, VCR, & cost) in the stores. The unit is performing well.

This is a very nice small TV/VCR for use in a small room such as a
bedroom or playroom. Picture is good, records well and programming
is very easy. I am very pleased with this product and it is just
what I expected. Thank you.

At first, it worked just fine. I ignored the loud, gunshot sound it made when I pressed the STOP button. However, I later discovered when trying to rewind or fast forward the tapes, it would EAT the tapes.
I pulled out the tape only to find the spools of celluloid still attached to the heads. I gently pulled on the cassette and it finally came out. But I tried to rewind the tape by hand & put it back in the machine. Only to discovered, it only ate more of the tape.
I do like the remote control. It lights up on the major buttons: Rewind, Play, Stop, & Fast Forward, it's a bright lime green colour that glows in the dark. Too bad the entire remote doesn't do that. It would make it easier to find in seat cushions of the couch!! However, the position of the buttons, Channels & Volume, are quite awkward and make it difficult to really change channels fast.
The TV part is nice & clear, but the tape part, FORGETABOUTIT!! I'm going to ditch this & look into a Funai or some other 13" TV/VCR. I would buy from the same company, but I would NOT buy this Sylvania TV/VCR. Maybe I'll try Target/Wal-Mart/Costco next time, but I am definitely NOT keeping this TV/VCR!!
