If your new vehicle has a factory-installed XM satellite-ready radio, you're halfway on the path to enjoying more than 150 channels of all-digital satellite entertainment. Now you can finish the job with the Terk XM Direct adapter kit. Compatible with select General Motors vehicles, this XM Direct kit includes everything you need to play XM over your compatible factory stereo--specifically, an XM universal tuner box, a roof-mount antenna, a smart digital adapter, and all the requisite cables. The components integrate directly with your XM satellite-ready car stereo, letting you control the XM features through your stereo's existing buttons and knobs.

The XM Direct is also notably compact, installing discreetly behind the dashboard to maintain an uncluttered appearance. Perhaps just as convenient are the plug-and-play connections, which make installation a breeze. The only slightly tricky item is the micro antenna, but even that is straightforward, with a magnetic mount that attaches securely to the outside of your vehicle. The adapter cable even includes a pass-through for keeping an extra component, such as a CD changer, connected to the system.

So why pay the dealer to install your XM radio system when you can do it yourself? The universal tuner box measures 3.81 by 1.38 by 4.38 inches (W x H x D) while the adapter checks in at 3.12 by 3.62 by 1.12 inches. The antenna cable, meanwhile, is 19.75 feet long. The bundle is backed by a one-year warranty.

Note: You must subscribe to XM satellite radio and own a General Motors vehicle with a satellite-ready car stereo to use this adapter kit.
