Sports fans will appreciate the dual-tuner picture-in-picture, which lets people watch two sporting events at the same time, while parents will value the built-in V-chip parental control. Other popular features include closed captioning, custom channel labeling ("ESPN," rather then "Channel 35," for example), several custom picture modes (including vivid, standard, sports, and movie), and adjustable color temperature (gives colors a blue, white, or red tint based upon the lighting of the room). The TV also offers auto channel programming, favorite channel presets, and SpeedSurf rapid channel scanning.

The KV-32FS12 is also packed with audio features, including a 10-watt built-in speaker system (5 watts x 2), Matrix Surround multichannel surround audio, an MTS stereo decoder with DBX noise reduction, and a Steady Sound automatic volume leveler. The combined audio options let the viewer listen through the built-in speakers, select an outside audio source, and even listen to an alternate audio broadcast of the same program (SAP) when available.

The TV connects to a host of additional components through its component video input (ideal for DVD players), three composite inputs (one front and two rear), S-video input, two RF inputs, and single audio output. As with most Sony TVs, this unit is also Energy Star compliant.
