The device--which uses a high-quality aperture grille to deliver a high-resolution, high-contrast picture--broadcasts up to 181 channels on its 9-inch screen, though far fewer when used in transit. It also offers both an AC power adapter (for locations such as a kitchen counter and bookshelf) and a 12-volt adapter that hooks up through a car's cigarette lighter. Non-cable reception is ensured through the TV's telescoping antenna, which attaches to the top of the TV. Other features include onscreen menus for variables such as picture quality, a sleep timer (with 30-, 60-, and 90-minute settings), channel captioning, channel block (for restricting children's access to mature programming), and a 1-watt speaker for audio. The TV also includes an AV input that facilitates connection to a VCR.
