Amazon.com Product Description Sony's high-value KV-32FS120 32-inch WEGA television packs a wealth of video technologies that guarantee sharp, vivid pictures from a range of sources. The set's FD (flat display) Trinitron WEGA flat-screen technology delivers high image accuracy, wide viewing angles, and corner-to-corner detail with no geometric image distortion. The visually flat FD Trinitron tube minimizes annoying glare from light sources, enhancing contrast. Squares are square, straight lines appear straight, and circles are truly circular. One of the KV-32FS120's coolest features is its 16:9 enhanced mode, which delivers maximum picture quality by concentrating all viewable scan lines within a letterboxed image--wasting none of its horizontal resolution on rendering the black bars that border a widescreen image. Clear Edge VM wideband velocity modulation improves definition at picture edges, creating sharper images by slowing the CRT (cathode-ray tube) beam's horizontal scanning during demanding work--say, when rendering transitions from light to dark parts of an image--and speeding it up when scanning easily rendered sections, like broad dark areas. The set's digital comb filter removes blurred edges between colors and reduces dot crawl (tiny, moving dots of color along a sharp color separation in a vertical line, as in a depiction of a character's striped T-shirt), while magnetic quadra-pole technology reduces "beam spot" distortion and improves corner-to-corner focus and picture sharpness. Program Palette presets offer combinations of picture settings engineered to make the most of specific entertainment types. Settings include vivid, standard, movie, and sports. Channel fix lets you select a specific TV channel (3, for example) for cable box reception. Then you can control a compatible cable box via the TV remote without inadvertently changing the TV from Channel 3. Top-of-the-line component-video inputs (Y/PB/PR) minimize digital and line-scan artifacts from compatible video sources, while standard composite- and S-video inputs accommodate all DVD players. A coaxial RF input accepts a feed from an antenna or an older VCR or cable box. Choose from 2 sets of rear AV inputs and a set of front AV inputs for extra convenience when hooking up a camcorder or gaming console. A rear AV output offers fixed-/variable-level analog audio outputs for hookup with a surround receiver. The set produces stereo audio and BBE sound enhancement with 10 watts per channel through built-in speakers. Other video technologies include auto white balance (which establishes the picture's tint, or hue, by adjusting sensitivity to red, green, and blue light, resulting in truer whites), Dynamic Picture Processor circuitry, tilt correction, Trinitone color temperature control, and vertical aperture compensation (which sharpens picture definition and edge detail on the vertical plane). You can label the set's video inputs and channels for easy selection. What's in the Box TV, RM-Y195 remote control, remote batteries, a user's manual, and warranty information.

Poor Quality, Poor Customer Service August 18, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I will never buy Sony products again, everything I buy that is Panasonic works very well and is well made and they have great customer service. Purchased 2 KV32FS120 in 2005, last week (2008) one set would not turn on. It's the dreaded 9 blinking lights, the diagnostic screen said it was an error in the ZCD 255, thats the Zero Crossing Detector and 255 is the number of times I pressed the power button and it failed. After researching the problem I found that thousands of people are having the same problem with many Sony models and Sony is not doing anything about it. Called Sony and they said they will not do anything for me, I asked to speak to a supervisor and she refused to transfer me. I got very upset with her that she would not transfer me to a supervisor and that a set would fail this soon and that Sony is doing nothing about it, knowing it is a defect. I told her I was never going to buy another Sony product ever again and she acted like she could care less she said: I had to do what ever I had to do, a very poor attitude! From what I have also learned is that it is not worth fixing.
Worked only with digital cable April 25, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My husband and I bought this TV about 6 years ago and it was supposed to have been top of the line. It worked fine for about 3 years as long as we had the digital cable box connected to it. When my family downsized to standard, directly from the wall cable, the TV literally had to warm up before we could get a clear picture. After about 3 months of this, the picture would not show at all, but we could hear the programs.
Eventually, we put the $750 Sony in storage and began using our $250 13 year old Hitachi and it has worked well for the past 2 1/2 years.
I would suggest that if you choose to by this TV, make sure that it is connected to a digital cable box or satellite converter. It will make things much easier in the long term.
Solid TV February 19, 2008 My family have had this TV now for a good three years. Outside of the TV being so heavy at 150 lbs, I couldn't be happier with the purchase. It looks really slick in my living room and the picture is just as sharp as the day I picked it up.
I know a lot of people have had negative reviews on this about the picture, but it seems to be pretty isolated. The weight of the TV isn't so much of a problem if your house ever gets broken into at least :)
Worked for 4 years - but that's it? February 10, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this Tv about 4 years ago and yes, the picture was good when it worked. This past year, the picture became very wavy and eventually the entire picture looked like an hourglass shape and never came back to normal. I had a tv guy at my house 6 times and he was never able to fix it. To spend $600 for a tv and to have it break after 4 years - that's insane. My grandmother still has her huge Zenith furniture tv after 25 years and it works perfectly. Sony, you are no longer the king of electronics - make way for Panasonic and Samsung who are now undercutting you for your business. those were the days my friends. Beware of this tv and sony products - they have foregone quality for cheap cost of parts and mass production.
Defective Sony TV - Does not last 2 years February 2, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This TV is clearly a defective model produced by Sony. In general, Sony TV's have been flawless - however this model has had a miserable quality record. With typical failures soon after warranty expires. In many cases Sony is refusing to acknowledge the quality issues and telling their cusotmers it is out of warranty and denying to fix the issue.
Many users are complaining high enough up the chain, that Sony will resolve the problem at not cost to the customer. You need to get past the 1st level of Customer Service.
Sony needs to re-evaulate how they are treating their customers - as Samsung is starting to eat their lunch. If this was a Samsung TV - Samsung would repair it at no cost or hassle to the customer, as they want to be #1 in the TV market...
