Great buy at Great price! January 8, 2004 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
Excellent value for money! Pocket size is perfect for on the go. No more bulky address books!I love the way it configures with my computer. Very user friendly. I would recommend this for any one on the go. A little money for a lot of PDA!
A waste of money for me. September 10, 2003 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
This was my first PDA and I haven't used it for 2 reasons: 1) I can't get my computer to talk to it. Sharp told me a couple of basic things to check - i.e. the com port settings. Since that didn't help me, they told me to contact the PC manufacturer. At this point I have still been unsuccessful. Since I do not want to have to duplicate entries in my computer and PDA, I have not used the PDA. 2) Even if my computer was importing and exporting the data, I still have to enter every item very painstakingly one at a time. There was a CSV import feature, so I thought I could put things in another application much quicker and then convert it into a CSV format. However, I was told by Sharp that the file import is for CSV files created from their CE491w software only. So, I asked about getting that application and was told that it wouldn't work on my device. I had seen the high ratings on this product and thought it must be a good choice. I was excited to get it and use it, so I have been very disappointed. I have never used another PDA to compare it to, but at this point, unfortunately, it was not even worth the low price for me.
Never recieved July 20, 2003 1 out of 8 found this review helpful
Might have been pleased, but 1 1/2 months after order and it hasn't been sent, I cancelled my order.
Great Organizer!Great Price! May 31, 2003 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
I was tired of caring my bulky organizer around, even if it had cool things in it. I needed something that would fit into my purse and be there when I need to write a memo or add a appointment. I needed something small, useful and convienant. I researched and finally decided to buy the YO-290P. I never realized how easy it was to have something like this and I love it! I find all the features of this product useful for me and it was in the right price range for myself. When people ask me how much it was and I tell them the price they don't believe it. That is the quality of this product. If you want a cheap but useful organizer that does just that, organize. The Sharp YO-290P is for you.
A Decent Price For a Decent PDA May 23, 2003 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I've had this Sharp YO-290P organizer for some time now. Among its better qualities, is the expense manager feature which enables you to categorize your expenses and even calculates it up for a given time. In addition, it has two somewhat entertaining games, a Spanish/English converter, a good telephone directory, and a conversion calculator. However, it does have some drawbacks. For instance, its backlighting is very poor. The touch screen is also poor and instead have to constantly switch from using the stylus to the buttons located on the bottom of this PDA in order to save any information. And its scheduler/calendar leaves something to be desired. The free software it comes with (which I myself have not installed but a friend of mine has), which is contained on a floppy disk, has some problems on as well. However, this may not be the case for those with different PC systems, etc. Overall, I find that this PDA is decent enough to use, especially for a first-time PDA user. However, if you want a good PDA with better features for a similar price or somewhat higher, you'll need to look elsewhere, perhaps at a Royal brand organizer.
